About

The Design Museum is a museum in Kensington, London which covers product, industrial, graphic, fashion and architectural design. In 2018, the museum won the European Museum of the Year Award.

The museum was founded in 1989 by Sir Terence Conran. It was originally located by the River Thames near Tower Bridge, and later relocated to Kensington. The museum operates as a registered charity, and all funds generated by ticket sales aid the museum in curating new exhibitions.

Problem

To help the Design Museum engage with the local community to support the museum and increase Membership numbers.

Plan of Action

Print - Pear printed the leaflets on high quality stock. Door 2 Door Distribution - We targeted high wealth households in the W8 6 postcode using our solus door to door distribution.

Distribution - Ultra Local Community Blanket run of leaflets. Our specialist team visited Kensington High Street, Earls Court Road, Notting Hill Gate and surrounding areas, Cafes, Takeaways, Pubs, Small Local Businesses, Boutique Shops, Barbers, Hairdressers, Bookshops, Libraries, Dry Cleaners etc ensuring that the printed message was displayed in a High-Footfall, Point of Sale areas.

Outcome

In targeting the high wealth area of London ,with it’s proximity to the Museums venue, local support was achieved using this simple but highly effective Door to Door & Ultra Local Community Blanket method, the engagement in this campaign resulted in a spike of membership applications and enquiries. Brand awareness of this world renown cultural hub was also raised.
